Soulful powerhouses Tamia and Joe made a stop on their joint tour in Baltimore. The Lyric Theater recently welcomed the duo with open arms as they performed before a sold-out crowd.
This stop marked the beginning of the highly anticipated and requested second leg of the tour.
At The Lyric on April 12, the night began as Joe Thomas took the stage first. A video montage played before he came out as everyone sang along to the Power theme song — “Big Rich Town.” The crowd erupted in screams as he walked on stage dawning all black with shades to match. His voice was angelic and pure as he belted out hit after hit. The audience joined in as he took us all on a trip down memory lane with classics such as I Wanna Know, All The Things and More and More. Joe was intentional in his delivery as he serenaded the crowd. He performed with such ease and passion. His love for showmanship translated into an epic performance.

After a brief intermission, Tamia graced the stage. She looked flawless as she sparkled under the lights. Her outfit was as glamorous as she was. Her voice was nothing short of amazing. She held each note with such tender care and warmth. When she sang “Officially Missing You,” I instantly became lost in the moment. I joined the crowd as we swayed and sang along to the rendition. We became a chorus as we soaked in the magic. Tamia proved exactly why she has etched herself among the greats. She performed fan favorites “Almost,” “Can’t Get Enough,” “So Into You,” and many more.

Tamia and Joe took us on a journey that proved why they are still praised and relevant after 30+ years in the game. Good music never runs stale and that was most definitely proven. From love songs to break up songs to viral line dance anthems, this show was one worth seeing and we most definitely couldn’t get enough!! The smiles, cheers and sore feet were the result of a great night in music and an unforgettable one for sure.
